After meeting the group in Newark, we took an overnight flight to Geneva, followed by a train and trolley to Leysin. Nestled high in the Swiss mountains, our cozy chalet offers idyllic views and comfortable beds that were much appreciated after a long day of travelling. We began our first full day by taking the télécabine up to La Berneuse and hiking to Lac de Mayen.
After trekking across snow-spotted grassy ridges and climbing over sunny peaks surrounded by spectacular views of the Alps, we settled down for a picnic at La Berneuse. Fully hydrated and with stomachs full of baguettes, local Swiss cheese, prosciutto, olives, hummus, and fruit, we made our way back down through the steep inclines and grassy pastures to the chalet. Before dinner, the group took part in a competitive ping-pong tournament in the chalet’s garden overlooking the valley, and we watched Mike and Luke fight for the title of champion as the sun set behind the mountains.
Stay tuned for more!
