Yesterday we traveled from our homestay to Refugio Tuckett in the Dolomites. We all woke up early and met at the bus stop at 6:00 am and after some teary good-byes we set off for the mountains. After a loooong and tiresome bus ride we arrived at the ski lift/ funivia that was going to take us up the mountain to our new Italian accommodations. We packed our bags so that everything we need for three days was in a small backpack; everything else was stored in the luggage room of a local restaurant. We took the funivia up the mountain to another rifugio and then hiked two hours to our new lodgings at the top of the mountain.

Today everyone split into two groups to either go rock climbing or  take on the famous “Via Ferrata”, pseudo-rock climbing obstacle course on the mountain. Although both were physically and mentally challenging, everyone was able to power through with great success.
